Many more foreign pilgrims will now be able to travel to Saudi Arabia for Umrah thanks to the new admission rules. Foreigners intending to enter Saudi Arabia still have the option of applying for a Saudi eVisa, and all other travel requirements remain the same.

Saudi Arabia modifies COVID-19 regulations:

The government has taken steps to relax its present limitations in an effort to restore stability to the nation after a significant drop in the number of coronavirus-positive cases and a successful vaccination program. The loosened restrictions include restoring the two sacred mosques in Makkah and Madinah to full capacity and eliminating the separation of worshippers from them. Face mask usage is still a requirement for entrance.

Getting a permit for the Umrah:

International Umrah pilgrims can now apply for particular permissions for the rituals at the Grand Mosque in Mecca and for prayers at the Tomb of the Prophet Mohammed in Medina, according to a facility recently introduced by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

Through the health apps Eatmarna and Tawakkalna, users can request the service. Prior to applying, candidates must register on the Qudum platform. This action is intended to make it easier for travelers to enter Saudi Arabia for Umrah.

No age restriction applies to pilgrims as of the most recent update:

Simply request a permit through the Eatmarna program, and Tawakkalna will reflect your health as immune. To maintain your immunity on the Tawakkalna application, you must receive three vaccinations, per the most recent vaccine regulations. The number of foreign travelers entering Saudi Arabia will increase thanks to these new regulations, which will increase the number of pilgrims who can do Umrah there.

Under-18 pilgrims are only allowed to undertake Umrah and pray in the Two Holy Mosques if they are Saudi Arabian citizens who have had their COVID-19 vaccination in full. Residents who are less than 18 and have not taken a double dose of vaccine are prohibited from performing the Umrah, along with all overseas pilgrims who are younger than 18 years old.
